Free Creative Activities provided by Sponge Tree
In line with this years theme 'Be Part of the Art', we invited you to create, explore, play and join in with the array of art mediums and techniques on offer for everyone to enjoy.

Outside Victoria Hall
Sat 28, Sun 29 and Mon 30 | 10am - 4pm

Sculpture Tree
Use tools to try your hand at whittling and help us to construct a wooden sculptural tree. Developed over three days to create a wonderful natural art installation.

Woven Teepees
Weave with fabric and yarn to create a cluster of shelters. Add your tag and chosen strip of colour to create dens for you to play and hide away.

Henna Body Art - Created by Connie
Saturday 28 May | 10am - 4pm
Henna artist, Connie Tu demonstrated and taught basics in all natural henna art.

Plaster Sculpting - Peter Keary
Sunday 29 May | 10am - 4pm
Peter’s specialism is 3D design and specifically ceramics. This year Peter will let visitors try their hand at sculpture and plaster casting, learn how to carve a sculpture from a block of plaster, or create a plaster wall plaque from clay using everyday & found objects.

Throw a Pot - Mary North
Monday 30 May | 10am - 4pm 
Mary North specialises in ceramics and runs the Old Brewery Pottery in Keighley with her partner Brian Evans. This year she invited everyone to have a go at throwing a pot. A Brilliant day!


Outside Shipley College

Draw yourself
Using large sheets of paper, pens, pencils and collage materials, you were invited to draw round each other and be creative with your details. Each artist drawn wa be suspended on our hall of fame washing line.

Robert’s Park

Saltaire in Cardboard
Sat 28 and Sun 29 May
Over 2 days, recycled boxes, pieces and tape were used to construct a giant Saltaire Village made entirely from cardboard.

Doodle Club
Mon 30 May
The illistrators from Doodle Club Shipley worked with visitors to design, construct and draw on the cardboard Saltaire village and bring it to life!

The Almshouse Gardens

Garden of Easels
The garden of easels was back! And in a lovely new location, letting the creativity flow freely using brushes and paints under the trees.

The Wash House Gardens

Chalk graffiti
Letting the imagination run wild, chalk boards and chalks were available to stop and have a doodle in this lovely garden area.
