Josephine Dellow

I love to draw houses, shops and beautiful buildings, as well as food and quirky characters. My work is inspired by my happy childhood, the books I loved and the charismatic buildings that have been a backdrop to growing up in Yorkshire.

After graduating BA Illustration at the University of Huddersfield in 2011, I started working in the greetings card industry. I then continued to design greetings cards while studying for an MA in Children’s Book Illustration at the University of Central Lancashire, which I completed in 2014.

It wasn’t until May 2016 - when I showed my work in Saltaire Arts Trail - that I first started to make prints to sell, after taking a screen printing course shortly before. Since then, I’ve developed a full little shop that I take to markets and print fairs and sell online. I love the process of developing my own products to sell directly to end users and have added mugs, tote bags, zines and a colouring book - as well as a range of prints - to my shop. I really enjoy having my stalls and meeting customers face to face. My favourite thing is to see people smile when they see my work, smiling is important and I hope my drawings bring a little extra joy into the homes of the people who buy it.
