My Symphony collection is fuelled by the vigour and vitality of the Yorkshire landscape. I transpose the rhythm of changing seasons and light on this rich and diverse landscape – the fells and dales, rivers and becks, rocks and coves, moorland and shorelines – into the rhythms and patterns within my work. Fine strips of glass are precisely cut, juxtaposed, layered to build up texture and depth as a painter would with paints. The collage is then kiln-fired at high temperature to create a symphony of chromatic density and luminosity
