I work in different types of media to produce paintings and drawings which explore the use of colour and light, my main inspiration being Impressionism. Although I often paint in oils I have recently been exploring the use of Pebo Glass paints as a painting medium on canvas and other hard surfaces and I will be including paintings made in this method in my collection of work.  These bright colours and metallic effects come together in interesting ways and I use these effects to explore themes of nature and the environment.  Another medium that I have been working in recently is coloured pencils.  Again, my focus is the natural world and I build up light layers of colour and texture to capture the beauty and delicacy of plants.  I also draw animals and birds using the fine pencil tips to bring out the fur and feathers.  I draw from life and from found images.
