Max Alexander

Since 2014 Max has been knitting moths. She has recreated over 60 different species. Each one is hand knitted with Shetland Wool and the designs are as accurate as possible.
Max is delighted by the incredible variety of pattern & colours moths display. She also likes the irony of knitting an insect that is known for eating wool. Her work also highlights endangered species. One of the most spectacular moths that she has knitted is the Urania Sloanus which went extinct in the early 1900’s. Although it’s a slow process she still has a huge list of must knit moths.
