Nick Claiden

My sculptures represent stories and dialogues with the environment, our relationship with it, they are about time, memories and birds - who have no boundaries. People are an essential part, observing, reflecting and leaving an imprint on the landscape, they are the pivot round which everything interacts.

My sculptures are vibrant and intricate and incorporate a wide range of stained-glass techniques, cutting coloured glass, painting and firing and then joining the pieces with lead or copper foil and wire. I incorporate fused glass for strength of colour and texture, etched glass for elusive images.
