It's not too late to send us a postcard!
Now in its third year, the Saltaire Arts Trail Postcard Exhibition offers everyone, whatever their age, experience or level of skill, the chance to exhibit in Saltaire’s iconic United Reformed Church in aid of a worthy local cause.
Postcards are sold at £5 each, and all proceeds go to The Cellar Trust, a Shipley-based charity which specialises in helping people recover from mental illness. Last year we raised almost £600 and we hope to top that in 2018.
This year’s exhibition will be launched on the evening of Friday 4 May with a concert at the Church by musicians from Skipton Camerata Orchestra, who have chosen a programme to reflect the Postcard theme, including Bach, Mozart, and Tchaikovsky’s, Souvernir de Florence. The postcards will then be on show throughout the Arts Trail weekend, and for the following month at the Cellar Trust cafe.
To be part of this, just send us a postcard! The size of your work must be 6x4” but there are no other rules; you have complete freedom to create whatever you like. You can use any medium, Painting, drawing, collage, digital, photography, textiles..all are welcome.
The exhibition will be managed by students at Shipley College Centre for Excellence in Business. Although our official deadline has passed, they'll be happy to receive postcards right up to the day before they set up the exhibition - Wednesday 2nd May. So it's not too late.
