Circular black and white prints hang stretched in embroidery hoops in this window-based print installation about the textile mills. The work focusses on the processes, such as spinning, pirn-winding and weaving used in the wool and alpaca mills, and the skilled mill workers’ roles. It uses sounds recorded in the mills and invites the viewer to consider the extraordinary effects that constant loud noise and vibration must have had on the lives of mill workers working in textile mills.
Also hanging in the window are folded mini books with poetry by Munaver Shah and the artist.
